− non responsiveness from host. we had several issues, to name a few no electricity in main floor bathroom nonfunctioning lights under the kitchen cabinets water dispenser with empty water jug nonexistence of promised kayak outdated master bathroom - uncomfortable to use

Cottage with potential - but needs work / cleaning

The location! We really enjoyed being close to Lion’s Head, trails, and being right beside the lake. Just a heads up, there’s a gravel road between the cottage and the lake, and the rocky ”beach” isn’t exactly child-friendly for water access, but fine for swims. It’s about 40 minutes from the Grotto / Cyprus Lake Campground, which isn’t too bad but obviously there are closer options. The layout of the cottage has lots of potential, but it could really use minor fixes and a deep clean!

− Our first impression entering the cottage was a strong chemical smell, which was a little off putting as we got away from the city to get some fresh air and enjoy nature. I wish they used more natural cleaning agents or simply air out the cottage before the guests’ arrival. Also, we found significant mold in bathrooms (toilet, showers) and in the refrigerator (the seals on the door). The kitchen could be better stocked. The front door wasn’t locking so we needed to call for Grey Bruce - the property manager - to send a handyman to repair it. Finally, we experienced a power outage on our last night and morning at the cottage, which isn’t a direct fault of anyone but I’m not sure if it’s a common occurrence in the neighborhood nor was there any communication from the property manager / host regarding the inconvenience.
