The owner was very helpful and friendly. For the price, I thought the stay was perfect. He speaks English, which is rare in Italy.

Maison chambre en campagne, très calme et confortable, à 20 mn à pied du centre ville historique et à 50 mn à pied d'une station balnéaire authentique au charme préservé. J'ai apprécié la tranquillité dans ce havre de paix loin du tumulte des grandes villes et en même temps à 10 mn en train de Palerme, ville cosmopolite fabuleuse et très animée.

− Avec un aussi joli jardin à la végétation luxuriante, j'ai été très embêtée et piquée par les moustiques.

The location was near the airport, shops and scenic sites. It was a realistic glimpse of the outward day to day lives of those living near or in Bagheria, including restaurants where patrons are allowed to bring their dogs to dinner with them, teenage students and residents greet each other with the traditional signs of affection and respect on arrival at school, and the decibel levels are maintained at maximum levels during dinner hours in the city. The residents were mostly kind and helpful and I felt safe walking around the areas, when I mistakenly left my valuable coat behind in the restaurant, it was placed behind the counter until my retrieval the next day. When my friend mistakenly left his wallet behind at the supermarket in the city (with passport and cash) it was held for him while we hurriedly retrieved it. The lady would not accept a reward, we found a great deal of honesty in the region. The prices for food were reasonable and economical. The quality was superb.

− I have to comment on the road traffic. Like the ebb and flow of the wild nature of Sicily, the traffic on the streets is not for the faint of heart. LA or Chicago has nothing on the driving white knuckle experience found in Sicily each and every time you venture outside your lodging. I am not a meek driver by any means but it got my heart racing each day which might be a good thing? The streets are narrow, the drivers aggressive and the harrowing experiences are abundant each and every day. The motorcyclists seem to enjoy surprising drivers in every way possible and every corner or street crossing represents an opportunity for potential disaster for the unawares. the ambulance sirens are common. People just seem to accept it as a way of life. Wild and untamed, just like the island, many vehicles display the rough and tumble daily grind of activity in dented sides fenders and bumpers. My rental vehicle did not have a remarkable and expensive dent recorded on the pre rental sheet inspection, I made sure to have it updated before leaving the airport or my $1000 deposit would surely have been reduced significantly upon return. Always on your guard for the unexpected. This has nothing to do with the host accommodations, in fact, secure parking was offered behind locked gates on the premises. The privacy on the front door could be improved. The location is secure where your privacy is not likely to be interrupted, but there is the remote possibility. The shower water was hot, the bed was comfortable, and there was no TV, but I did not travel to Sicily to watch TV. You can always use your phone, the wifi is adequate to stay up to date. The shower is smaller and a large person might have some trouble using it. The same could be said for the bed, a taller person by foreign standards might have some trouble with a comfortable rest. Even so, the hosts were most accommodating with every need. Positives outweighed any negatives, I would return.
