Worst stay of my life...

− Two of the three queen and large beds had used and dirty linen. The property manager had emailed us while we were en route to apologise and advise us to bring our own linen and towels. Obviously, it was too late for us, and it resulted in an extremely uncomfortable nice, as we had to wash and dry the sheets/pillow covers until 2am. There were visible yellow stains on a pillow, sand inside the dryer door, and dirty kitchen drawers with residue resembling cockroach droppings, raising serious hygiene concerns. For a booking for four people, only five small coffee capsules were provided. Overall, the property was not properly cleaned or ready on arrival, significantly impacting our stay. I would like Booking.com to let me know how to file a complaint and ask for compensation.

A weather dependent location that needs insulation and a kitchen clean
5.0We did like the location - about 40 metres to the beach. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to take too much advantage of the location. We also liked that there was a Woolworths just a short drive away as we had planned (and did) to cook most of our meals. We did like the hot tub once we figured out how to change the temperature and the most of the rooms were nicely laid out. Kitchen has a dishwasher which is always a plus when you're away and the hot water is nice and hot - don't have to wait long at all. Well laid out laundry for those longer stays.
− There is little to no insulation in the house and there was no firewood. $60 worth of firewood and kindling to get through the weekend. Because of the high-pitched ceilings where the fireplace was - it didn't effectively heat the house. We had the aircon units going for most of the weekend. I imagine that the reverse would have been true - a hot summer day would have made the lounge room and the bedrooms quite hot. There were no visible instructions to adjust the temperature for the hot tub, which had been set too low for a cool afternoon. We finally figured it out in time to enjoy time in the hot tub the morning before we left - but those instructions could have been visible, and we would have enjoyed more of our stay. The springs in the lower bunk bed are very squeaky which made it a challenge for the person in that room to get to sleep. Lastly, the kitchen - the gas stove top needs maintenance to ensure the supply remains stable. The oven and oven trays and pans had caked on oil/fat and need a thorough professional clean to bring it back to an acceptable standard to arrive to. There are no board games or a DVD library that you come to expect at home stays - but the main TV is connected to Netflix and still has the variety of plugs at the back for those bringing their own DVD player.
