Great place to stay to be closer to Aso/eastern Kyushu for exploring!
9.0Cute little house outside of the bustle of Kumamoto. Lots of room inside to spread out; you could easily have multiple people staying here to split the cost. Location was great for us as we wanted to explore the mountains to the east of Kumamoto and it saved us 30 minutes driving each way from downtown. Shower room was great, lots of room. Big kitchen to get your day started/snacks prepared for a day of traveling. Washing machine was super convenient.
− Floor cleanliness was questionable. I definitely had to wipe down my feet before getting into bed as there was a fair amount of dust. Better pillows on the bed would be appreciated - there were 2 and they were each PAPER thin. House feels kind of sparsely decorated - there's no art, no desk lamps... a few furnishings would be nice (luggage holder?) so it doesn't feel so barren.
