Great location and lovely property. We had a mooch around Buxton and Bakewell and did a trip to Chatsworth, but felt like we could have done an awful lot more if we had the time! The breakfast at the Old Bakery was very tasty and we loved the live music and cocktails at the Charleston. The host was very helpful and prompt to respond to my queries. They also left a lovely arrival package of wine, milk and bread. Even better if: there was a bread knife, and a pen so that we could write in the guest book.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of Bakewell

The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Bakewell, and the parking space was not too far away. The cottage was perfect, clean, tidy, and had everything we needed and more. The breakfast that was included was at the local cafe, but it was a little too late for us, starting at 9am. If we had had the option to purchase a breakfast hamper where we could have cooked it ourselves in the cottage, e.g. bacon, sausage and egg, that would have been a good alternative. We were very appreciative of the welcome hamper.

− The radiator in the bathroom is always on, and we stayed there when it was 35 degrees! Having the option to turn it off would have helped. Having a place to hang a hand towel under the bathroom sink would be useful.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of Bakewell that had all the amenities for a short break. Had a well appointed kitchen with additional coffee and milk which was very much appreciated. Many people walking past the property were looking at the beautiful roses climbing above the front door. This is a perfect property and was so cosy that I didn’t want to leave. The welcome gifts were greatly appreciated. The breakfast and excellent service at the olde pudding shop was superb.

Breakfast was excellent, staff lovely at the Pudding Shop

− Please get handrail sorted to stairs. People have commented in the comments book before and it hasn't been done yet. Particularly troublesome when you need to go downstairs during the night to use the bathroom. We had to leave lights on to guide us through the darkness! Also the shower needs to be sorted. Water pressure not great and overhead shower head not able to be used as advised not to adjust the shower controls. We would probably come back whatever as lovely place and brilliant location but the addition of a decent shower and a bit of stair safety would really make it top class.
