10.0We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Omar Khayyam Houseboat Retreat during our Kashmir trip. The houseboat experience itself was beautiful — very clean, peaceful, and located in a stunning part of Dal Lake with breathtaking morning and evening views. The staff and hosts were extremely welcoming, polite, and always ready to help us with anything we needed. They treated us like family and made sure our stay was comfortable throughout. The traditional Kashmiri food served during our stay was fresh, delicious, and one of the highlights of our trip. We also arranged tours through the property, and everything was managed smoothly for us. The driver was cooperative and guided us properly during sightseeing in Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Sonamarg. We especially appreciated how the team remained available on call whenever assistance was needed. One thing we genuinely liked was that the management tried their best to make guests comfortable even during unexpected weather or travel situations, which is very common in mountainous regions like Kashmir. Overall, it was a memorable and authentic Kashmiri hospitality experience. We would definitely recommend this property to travelers looking for a peaceful stay, caring staff, tasty food, and reliable local tour assistance while visiting Kashmir.

1.0Its a nice houseboat, with a good view.
− Unfortunately, we got ripped off by the hosts through a tour we organized with them. We were told that we could go and sleep at a hut in the mountains, do some trekking and visit real handicraft villages / factories on the way. Additionally, it was claimed that all meals were included. We paid around 290€ for the group, one car (incl. driver) and this 2-day trip. However, not only was nothing of the aforementioned activities done (no trekking, no hut in the mountains & no village) but also the accommodation was not organized. Our driver looked for a good three hours for hotels. Similarly, food was neither included nor organized - the hotel we stayed in was pretty emtpy and no restaurant was open within a 10 minute walking distance.
