Nice hosts, great location, good accommodation but iffy cistern that I am sure will be fixed.

Good location within walking distance of Wigtown and we had everything we needed within the property.

Barn Cottage to the rear of the property was great for privacy, and the tame sheep in the paddock were a lovely addition. The property was clean, which we always think is important, and we slept well. The cottage benefits from a washing machine and there are additional facilities on site, which was great, had we needed them. We didn't take advantage of he swimming pool as we were out all day, but the fact that you can book it just for yourselves by the hour, is a nice idea.

− Our mistake when booking, was not to have spotted that the lights and heating were metered, and that we'd be required to feed a meter £1 coins. I appreciate utilities are expensive currently, but we would have preferred to be charged extra for the stay, and for electricity to be included. Also, to feel the benefit of a storage heater, it needs 24hrs to warm up, so we were especially cold the first evening, even though the weather outside was glorious. The log burner was aesthetically attractive, but if you feel out of your depth using such an addition, it ends up serving no purpose.
