Thought it was pretty with lovely kept garden. Very clean and tidy

− The bedroom was facing the main road and the traffic noise was just so loud, I wasn’t able to shut the window as the temperature would be too hot, so I hardly slept. Perhaps if there were fans in the room during hot weather the windows could be shut reducing the traffic noise.

Our seven-night stay at The Mariners Guest House could not have been better. From the moment we arrived, Yvonne made us feel genuinely welcome and took the time to explain everything about the house and the surrounding area. The room was beautifully presented, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we might need. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, the location was ideal, and having free parking made our stay even easier. There were also plenty of nearby places to enjoy breakfast. Everything was perfect, and we would return without hesitation.

Friendly and informative host

Lovely spotlessly clean guest house, but the road noise was a major downside.

The house is lovely, spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. Everything was immaculate, which made our stay even more comfortable. The host was welcoming, friendly, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The location is also great, with several lovely gastro pubs within easy walking distance, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

− The location of our room was a downside. It faced a busy main road, so there was constant traffic noise throughout the day and night. There was also no air conditioning, so we had to keep the windows open all night, which made the traffic noise from the main road even more noticeable. If you're looking for a quiet place to get a good night's sleep, this may not be the best option unless you can book a room facing the back of the property. I'd recommend asking about the room's location before your stay if noise is a concern. It would also be a nice bonus if breakfast were available and included in the room rate, as it would make the stay even more convenient and offer better value for money.
