A quiet neighborhood

Beautiful house with spacious rooms. Contains all equipment needed. The house has air conditioning which made our life easier in the hot summer days. Accessible to the highway to Brussels and all other cities. There is a supermarket only 5 minutes away by walking. Nice restaurants around. The owner is very kind and helpful. He was available anytime to help and support. Thank you for the great hospitality and kindness

Irritating lack of attention to detail, cleanliness, damp and consumables but lovely space.

The amount of space was lovely and not crammed with items we wouldnt use. The gates and garage were great. Alan was welcoming.

− There were no towels for us but some really old, stained or hospital towels were left for us to use. There was no tea towel to dry the washing up. No dishwasher or washing machine tablets. The downstairs bathroom was dirty. It hadn't been cleaned from previous user. The whole house smelt strongly of damp all of the time. The bed linen was really creased, which didn't look nice or welcoming. The dinning room table hadn't been wiped but had clearly been used. The magazines were from 2015. The stairs were marble ( lovely) but were very steep and this would be an issue with babies or young toddlers. Only 1/4 small loo roll in bathroom. I requested more but was told that the host provides just 1 and guests provide after that. Host did provide more. Leak under the sink. Host saw it when we arrived. We had to periodically mop the floor and couldn't use the water heater in the kitchen as this was what was leaking. We stayed for just 2 nights. I was disappointed because it had received such good reviews. With a little more thought and input, it could be a fabulous place to stay. The potential is huge. We did book last minute but I feel that if the host couldn't get the property up to scratch with 9 hours notice, they should have refused the booking. The host lived less than 1 minute walk away.

Breakfast not provided, but convenient to locale restaurants and, with full kitchen, grocery store (our choice). Light breakfast and sandwiches only meals eaten here.

− European approach, while it is consistent from accommodation to accommodation, is - no wash /face cloths, just towels; in this case only bath towels (one for each person) were supplied. Owner was next door so we could have easily asked for more. My wife found the bed to uncomfortable and didn't sleep well, I didn't have an issue with it. Air was only available in the master bedroom and the living room downstairs. While normally night temperatures at this time of year would be lower to allow for better night cool downs, Belgium was in a hot spell and night temps stayed high enough to make the nighta little uncomfortable
