The house was very peaceful, it was easy to locate,and near public transport. I did not meet Mona but the son was friendly,and welcoming. It was value for money in every sense. Highly recommend

Location

− Travelled down from Wales to visit family, on Booking.com the reviews read exceptionally well & communication was friendly initially, I had to change dates by a day which was available,however on arrival a doorbell conversation took place as host was out the country, dog continally barking at me,had been told someone would be there, no one was there, following instructions entered to building to find back door wide open, to allow dog access i expect, into kitchen which was messy & looked unclean,dog food etc over the floor, steep uncarpeted stairs which scruffily painted, on way to my room i passed another room where the dog stayed, it was dreadful looked like an explosion of blankets, mess & unhygienic, I unlocked my room, this was tidy, but not particularly clean, but slightly better than other parts of the house, I looked for bathroom, this had a cubicle shower with no door & was full of buckets, wooden chairs so unusable, basic cleanliness in here also, so with no one to meet me, although the hosts son was to come later i was told by message,no safety as house wide open, no usable washing facilities, and unclean & messy kitchen & rooms upstairs, I had concerns as a woman on her own, so had to check OUT instead of check in, extremely disappointed, I trusted the reviews as we do, but there were poor standards here & I had to make other arrangements, I believe these circumstances warrant 50% refund according to what the site says, but that has been refused by host, very, very disappointed.Wish i had taken photos, but just wanted to leave.

Superb-value room in comfortable home a short walk from the seafront

Exceptional value! I had a very comfortable three-night stay here. Lots of positives: - The host was really friendly and relaxed, and Rico the dog is lovely! Such a sweetheart. - The house is in a quiet street within comfortable walking distance to shops and the seafront. Great location, plus it's also not far from the main road off Canvey Island, so it's easy to get anywhere. - There's on-street parking right outside, and I was very happy leaving my car there during my stay. Very safe. - The room itself is very comfortable. Great bed, both soft and firm pillows, kettle, fridge (nice touch!), cutlery and crockery, plus various options of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, etc. Clearly a very thoughtful host. - The TV links to all the usual apps, and the WiFi was very quick. Happy days! - Lockable drawer next to the bed, plus the room itself was also lockable. - Toiletries were provided, which was unexpected but a nice bonus!

− Maybe a small desk would've been helpful, but it's no big deal. :-)

Lovely hosts who make you feel super welcome and nice chat. Great comfortable bed. Cute pooch called Rico too!
