Love this place for the views, peace, quiet and amazing facilities.
8.0Loved the views. This is one of our favourites Karoo lodges in SA. Our family of 7 love to come via the Karoo on our way home after our chaotic coastal family holidays in the E Cape. This visit didn't disappoint - apart from the noisy owner's kids using the pool. We loved the rooms and love Ampie who made an impression on me once again on this visit. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Loved braaing near the pool. Never get tired of the view. We will definitely be back.
− We really did not like the very noisy kids who didn't appear to be paying guests who used the pool to clear their sinus'! We watched in horror as the kids snorted and shouted.... admittedly they were not in the pool for long, but we heard them all afternoon and the following morning. When one books this place for the quiet and serenity, it was disappointing to have owner's kids ruin the peace and quiet. I really feel that if this establishments wants to promote itself as a quiet, serene retreat; then non paying guests need to be respectful of the paying guests that are there. On a previous visit, we met a wonderful couple at the pool who we ended up braaing with and sharing conversations - they were like us, coming for the quiet and peacefulness of Red Stone Mountain. We loved that. But this time, I was most disappointed with noisy kids staying in the main house. When I asked the staff, I was told they were the new owner's family.... this seriously disappoints me as I sincerely hope that the culture of this place isn't affected.
