A Hidden Gem Above Xlendi Bay

Penelope Apartments is a real gem in Xlendi. Perched at the highest point of the valley, it offers some of the most spectacular views in the area, overlooking both the valley and the bay. Having breakfast on the spacious terrace was an unforgettable experience. In the morning, the terrace remains pleasantly shaded while the sun is still on the opposite side of the valley, making it the perfect place to enjoy the stunning scenery. Evenings were equally special, sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine and taking in the peaceful atmosphere. The apartment itself is very spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. It is well equipped with everything one might need for a relaxing stay. There is also a convenient shortcut via a staircase just around the corner, providing direct access down to the bay. Xlendi is a small and charming village where everything is within easy reach, including restaurants, shops, and public transport connections to the rest of Gozo. The apartment offers excellent value for money, and the owner is extremely welcoming, attentive, and responsive, regularly checking to make sure everything is going well. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely choose Penelope Apartments again on my next visit to Gozo.

L'appartamento ha degli spazi soddisfacenti (un'unica camera da letto, soggiorno con cucina, terrazzo, bagno e ripostiglio). Facilità di parcheggio libero nei pressi della proprietà.

− Ristrutturare quattro mura non fa di te un host, ti rende solo un dilettante che improvvisa. L’impatto con la struttura è traumatico: un condominio fatiscente, sventrato, che puzza di muffa. Al check-in (comunque avvenuto nell'orario stabilito) non c'è nessuno. Il proprietario, rintracciato a fatica, ha pure l'arroganza di fare polemica sui minuti di anticipo anziché scusarsi per la totale assenza di comunicazione. ​Ma il vero horror inizia dentro. Oltre alla polvere diffusa che abbiamo dovuto pulire da soli, la perla della casa: lenzuola e asciugamani "puliti" stracolmi di macchie, peli e capelli altrui. Un livello di schifo e degradante inciviltà oltre ogni limite. ​Il proprietario? Sparito. Ha risposto a notte fonda promettendo un cambio della biancheria mai avvenuto, per poi dileguarsi nel nulla per tre giorni. Siamo stati costretti a dormire e lavarci nello sporco altrui per tre notti. Un fantasma totale. ​Inutili anche i complici di Booking.com: un servizio clienti ridicolo, inefficiente, capace solo di rimbalzare la palla tra operatori inutili senza risolvere due richieste banali come un cambio lenzuola o una riprotezione. L’umiliazione finale? Un'elemosina di 40€ in crediti come "compensazione". ​Struttura da cancellare dalle mappe. E se potete, cancellatevi anche da Booking, l'assistenza è ormai diventata una barzelletta. Sconsigliatissimo è dire poco.

Great apartment and host - but make sure Xlendie is likely to be good/work for you when you go.

Appartment was beautifully clean, kitted out, spacious and well maintained. Host was generous with some drinks in the fridge. Kitchen fully stocked for self catering as required. High balcony with view.

− Xlendie maybe wasn't for us - but that's our fault as we didn't look into it enough (slightly older couple, off season (February), not much there - or open). Likely suits younger ones for a week or more of summer action/fun etc etc. later in the year. Not the end of the world though as only a short bus ride into Victoria.

Comfy and will return :)

Modern with a view. Comfortable with all amenities

− No table in dining area. Found it a bit hard to manage with kids. (To be fair there was an outdoor plastic table, but was always wet due to rain)
