We stayed at Blue Lagoon for two nights in one of the lodges, and we had a fantastic stay. The lodge itself was very comfortable, and although the bathrooms were shared with the other lodges and dorms, there were plenty of showers and toilets, everything was kept spotless, and it never felt crowded. The water pressure and temperature were excellent. The food was a highlight. The resort has a main restaurant and a Japanese restaurant, Donu. We had breakfast every morning in the main restaurant and one dinner at each restaurant. Mari, our waitress on most occasions, was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The team initially needed a little guidance with our vegan meals, but once they understood our requirements, they were alright. A special thank you to the pastry chef from Tuesday night (7th July), who came to chat with us about the bread and asked how long we were staying. The following morning we were delighted to find vegan muffins and vegan bread, clearly labelled as vegan. Lunch had slightly fewer vegan options, but the chefs happily prepared a delicious vegan pizza for us. Every meal was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. We also really appreciated that Blue Lagoon was the only resort we visited in the Yasawa Islands that offered tofu. As vegans, having a good source of protein made a huge difference, and it was something we genuinely appreciated throughout our stay. Our dinner at Donu, the Japanese restaurant, was one of the best meals of our entire Fiji trip. Since it’s a set menu, we weren’t sure whether they would be able to accommodate a vegan diet, but after speaking with the head chef, Sake, he created an incredible vegan tasting menu just for us. Every dish was creative, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Sake came to us to explain the dishes and later told us that creating the vegan menu had challenged him to be even more creative, which made the experience even more special.

The snorkelling reef in front of the hotel. Also, the food options were great and the Japanese 10-course menu that is part of your meal plan was just amazing.

− It is very busy, with a lot of kids and big families. This took away the relaxing atmosphere. Sometimes, we found the staff to not be very friendly.

Bestes Personal und Essen auf den Yasawas

Das Personal!!! (Fast) alle unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit. Super Service in den Restaurants - das sucht schon seinesgleichen auf den Yasawas. Dazu das beste Essen in ganz Fiji (waren 7 Wochen) und sogar weltweit kann das mit Spitzenrestaurants mithalten. Vor allem das japanische ist der Hammer!!! So unglaublich gutes Essen und ein super eingespieltes Team. Grüße an den Chefkoch, einer der sympathischsten Menschen, welchen wir jemals kennengelernt haben. Auch die Gemeinschaftsräume immer sauber und nie überfüllt. Top Strand und die Bergwanderung ist auch super. Kostenlose SUPs und Kajaks sind auch top.

− Haben lange überlegt, aber rein zum Hotel gibts wirklich nix negatives. Der gute Teil des Riffes ist sehr weit draußen und kann nicht mit anderen Riffen auf den Yasawas mithalten. Und obwohl wir zum Schnorcheln hier waren, haben die anderen Punkte so sehr überwogen, dass das nicht so schlimm war.

Very friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Everything is well organised and easy to understand on the island. The food was very good and very filling. The water is stunning and the hike was a highlight.

− The shared bathroom can do with a bit more regular cleaning but it wasn’t too bad.
