− We booked this because of the quirky nature of the accommodation and the proximity to Whangarei. The photos on Booking.com make the bus appear more salubrious than it is. This is no more than a DOC hut with a comfy bed! It is an old transit bus converted into accommodation, but really done on the cheap. Definitely needs a good spruce up (deep clean and new decor). Curtains are insufficient to provide privacy in the toilet (located in the drivers cab). The shower floor slopes enough to be a slip hazard. No soap or shampoo provided. A squeege would be a useful addition to clear the floor of excess water after showering. The dehumidifier needs to be run constantly to keep damp and condensation under control.

9.0It was quirky, different, unique, very chill, relaxing. It’s quite bohemian, if different is your thing, then it’s pretty cool and different. Shower and bathroom were good - if one is wondering what these are like on a bus. It was raining and cold when I stayed, I still enjoyed it. Would recommend for something different to an intrepid traveller
− If you like high quality, then this is not for you. It’s great quality of a quirky nature.
