Excellent & Happy
10.0The apartment was newly renovated and had all conveniences. A lovely kitchen, fridge, plenty of useful utensils, water cooker, toaster etc. I liked the fact that there were proper utensils. A lot of apartments I stayed at over the past years never had a good collection of utensils. This one did. My only feedback was a small pan to boil an egg as I don't wanna waste water with a big XL pan. There is also a washing machine, which is also why I selected this apartment. Its nice and spacious. The air-conditioner worked well. Communication with the host via whatsapp went very smooth and he responds fast and friendly. I really think this is very very good. Thank you! Mellieha, centre of town is just a few steps down. You will find some grocery shops, pharmacy, tourist shops and various restaurants. Wellbee's a big supermarket is about 15 minutes walk. I liked doing all my shopping there as its got everything i needed. The bus stops are also very near bringing you to different places on the island. A ticket costs 2.50 EUR and is valid for 2 hours. You can also get a bus card in one of the shops in Mellieha Town if you are staying longer and will use the bus a lot. The Beach is a good 20 minute walk down the hill. Do note the walk back up the hill is great exercise. I enjoyed the walk up as exercise, but not everyone does. If your mobility is bad, Malta is not the easiest of places to roam around. You can also take the bus back up. Plenty of buses frequently. My favorite Cafe is the Sea View Cafe. On top of the hill by the church. Definitely visit it. My favorite restaurant this year is: IL-KUNTRATT (its down the hill on the way to beach/sea next to Luna Apartments. Great Food, excellent quality. It gets really busy there, so i booked and went early at 18:00.
− Full buses. Maltese / other citizens can ride the buses for free. Tourists/ others pay. Around certain hours the buses can get extremely unpleasantly full. Avoid rush hours. Traffic gets very congested and a bus ride to Valletta can take way over an hour if you get stuck. Bolt is a good option, especially if you are more then 1 person and can share costs. Small pavements for pedestrians. General thing in Malta due to lack of space.
