Excellent stay
9.0Good location for Eastbourne and the Downs. Good access to cycle routes and useful outhouse for bike storage.
− Some of the doorways and beams are a bit low (if you’re over 6ft), but should be expected in a period property
Enjoyable stay in a period cottage, clean and well equipped, would definitely stay again.
9.0Great proximity to the downs, clean quaint and quiet.
− Couldn’t stay long enough!!!
Broken bed
1.0The location was absolutely beautiful in a lovely area, however the bed was broken in the property which I did not know till I went to sleep in it, the owner stated it was not broken and to use the sofa bed , not ideal at all, the owner was not sympathetic at all despite my discomfort and disability of only having 1 arm to deal with the owner refused a replacement bed and would not honour a refund on this issue, the cottage itself was clean,
− The area also has limited parking,
A home away from home in a lovely South Downs village.
8.0Location, space, comfort.
− Unusable/old tea & coffee jars, unkempt garden without some of the homely touches of other Wish Hill Cottages. Could have done with bigger towels. Confusion over the garbage disposal ie instructions did match colours of bins.
Cozy cottage in a beautiful spot
8.0Location was good. Nice quiet area with a good pub close by. Good access for walking on the downs. Reasonably easy to park close to the property. The bed was comfortable although smaller than we were used to. Beautiful piece of local history.
− The main shower could have been cleaner particularly the shower head. The garden is overgrown and doesn't add to the enjoyment of sitting out at the front door. It's a shame because it could be beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped for most purposes but there was very old coffee and tea bags left in the jars which obviously couldn't be used and the kettle still had water in it which shouldn't happen. There didn't appear to be the bins required for the property.

9.0Sweet cottage, bigger than it looks from the outside. Well equipped kitchen & back door leading to a downstairs shower room. Ideal when returning from a muddy walk. Central heating worked well once we turned up the thermostat to 19. If it's cold when you arrive just locate the thermostat on the book shelves & turn it up! Couldn't park on the same road as the cottage on the weekend, but parking on a side street was less than 5 mins walk away. Village pub within staggering distance or lovely walk over the Downs to the Eight Bells in Jevington which has a dog friendly pub with lovely food.
− Could do with 2 extra paving slabs on the approach to the front door. The "garden" is not for dogs as the grass & wildflowers were waist high. Perhaps because of No mow May?
