I would like to stay at The Orange House when I return to visit the city.

The location is perfect for visiting Washington D.C. The apartment is well-supplied for a weekend visit. It is clean with comfortable heating. Really good hot water for a shower! The hosts were very friendly and helpful!

Noisy, confusing description but great location

The location is excellent

− The property description is quite confusing, and the listing shows photographs from several different apartments. The apartment upstairs looks much nicer with large windows, while another one appears to be in a half-basement. We booked an apartment for two weeks, but upon arrival we were given a basement unit—it felt like a lottery. We stayed only for one night and were unable to sleep for the following reasons: The in-window heater was making constant noise. The people upstairs were very loud, and the squeaking furniture and footsteps kept waking us up. We moved out the next day and asked the host for the full refund minus one night. The host was able to refund 50% of the full price for two weeks.

The location was great, and the apartment was pretty clean. It had everything needed for a few days, and the experience was overall ok, other than a few things I mentioned below. I would still come back maybe, for one person it was ok.

− It was way older than what it looked like from the pictures. The window frames/fixtures were extremely old, so the cold was getting in, especially in the restroom (which had a little warmer but in the morning was freezing). The apartment overall was warm, but the heater was extremely noisy, especially at night. Also, because how old it was, you could hear everything from the outside (like people collecting garbage in the early morning) and the upper floors.

This is a nice and comfortable apartment in a beautiful and central location in Washington DC. The subway station Dupont Circle is easy to reach. The host was proactive in the communication and responsive to requests. The bed and bath were comfortable and the kitchen was sufficiently equipped. The airco kept the place cool and as a whole the place was quiet.

− The entry door to the apartment jammed a little, maybe it was humidity. The cups and plates etc. could be a bit more uniform and not a collection of redundant items. The cutlery should contain a peeling knife. Small things really. The place was great.
