Comfortable and pleasant stay overlooking the sea

The sea view was amazing from the terrace. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Comfortable stay with use of the pool.

− Our parking space was taken on our arrival and returns from days out. The owner was helpful to resolve this.

Great views, clean apartment but overall complex of property tired

Wonderful sea view from balcony towards Mount Etna. Apartment clean.

− It is not a beach hut. No access from property to the sea shore, gates locked no key supplied. No address supplied by agent just a pin on a map but internet did not work making locating difficult. No what3words identifier provided for main white gates to estate or where apartment block was on estate complex. Too much reliance on internet working. Externally property very tired. Car park area untidy. Building crumbling in places, clear evidence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) damage. Over 25 steps with no lift to get to apartment, not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties and heavy suitcases. Patio furniture had no cushions to assist with comfort. Only 2 cushions supplied when a 3bed apartment!. When raised with agent no solution provided ie extra towels supplied to counteract. Description on website of apartment did not explain pool area cannot be used between 2pm- 5pm each day. Pool external floor tiling in very poor repair. Apartment directly positioned underneath cafe which if open (closed for refurb whilst on our stay) would have been very intrusive and noisy. Air conditioning overflow containers not emptied by building caretaker. Frequently left overflowing and making walkways slippery. We had to empty. None of this was also in description of property. Have photos of proof if required.

All in all we had a good time

The flat is located in a very peaceful area with amazing view, we spent majority of our time on the very spacious terrace enjoying stunning view of the seaside and Etna. There is free shaded parking slot and easily accessible pool. The beds were comfortable and the place is fitted with quite new appliances. The owners sent video with instructions how to find the flat and were quick in replying.

− We needed to do our own shopping of essentials as for example we were provided only 1 toilet roll for 3 people for a week long stay...We also didn't have wifi for the entire stay, even though we reported to the owners twice. The phone signal is not very strong in the area so you might consider buying local sim card as sometimes we couldn't even browse websites. The flat could be also better cleaned, as eg. dust bunnies were flying everywhere, cutting boards were molded, we had to scrub grill before using it etc. It would be also helpful to provide iron board as there is iron. The car is a must in this remote location, otherwise it's 85€ for 30min ride to the airport. It should be mentioned on the website that there is city tax to be paid in cash. The owners were very responsive, but not very courteous.
