Very good
8.0Location is a bit off the tourist trail, in a very tranquil setting. The host was excellent and the amenities are as described. There is ample parking on the property. Most tourist sites are within a short driving distance (anywhere from 20mins to a few hrs depending on the site). You need a car to go to restaurants / evenings out. Martinafranca is a short drive away and excellent for an evening out
For a nice stay in a rural trullo
8.0This two bedrooms trullo is set far from the main road, which makes it calm and appealing for a tranquil stay in Val d'Itria being very close to Villa Franca and not far from the famous Alberobello. The seaside is about 40min far by car. Apart from the two rooms, one of which is not actually a trullo but built into it, there is a small but equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a dining area. In the backyard, there is also space to dine outside with view to the orchard. In the kitchen we were provided with coffee and a few things for breakfast, like home made marmalades and fresh eggs. There are other trulli on the same property, some under renovation. Recycling bins in the kitchen for proper trash disposal. The hosts are very reactive when needed, friendly and provided us with a lot of useful information about all the surrounding places and local gastronomy. There are a lot of cats from the farm next door and not disturbing at all, we would just suggest not to feed them to keep distance. :)
− A car is a must to stay here. We experienced some issues with water pressure and temperature, which initially we thought to be related to the house settings; when we notified it on the second day, they came immediately in, fixing the issue by doing some plumbing work and apologizing for the inconvenience. Despite the fix, the hot water doesn't last that long and it can be challenging for four people to shower one after the other. Despite being a country house, the floors could have been cleaned better before our arrival. If you have issues with bugs, you might prefer to consider a stay in the city as it is just normal to encounter a few in and out the house, like for instance getting the clothes out to dry full of ants (not a problem for us but worth mentioning for other type of travellers). We felt however the need of mosquito nets, which are not present and would have avoided us several uncomfortable bites. The worker renovating the nearby trulli woke us up very early in the morning with loud hammering on the rocks right behind our bedroom and this happened on the only day we could have a longer sleep; not having informed the worker of our stay was the host's fault and, even though they apologized, well, it was very unfortunate and it too late for us to get back to sleep. Overall, a stay we liked a lot and, especially with added mosquito nets, we would definitely come back!
Excellent!
10.0The host was extremely kind and helpful. The beds were very comfortable with the possibility of heating, and in case of colder days and nights the fireplace is there to warm the house. The surroundings are beautiful, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, and we especially liked the horses from the estate. 😊
Very pleasant stay!
