Disappointing - I paid to spend part of my 3-night holiday cleaning.
4.0Charming sitting room, good TV and able to stream. Comfy sofa and bed. Water pressure and (therefore) the shower really good. Lovely views from the garden.
− There was a weird smell in the sitting room that necessitated the opening of doors and windows - didn't totally dissipate though. The TV screen was dirty and smeary. I didn't like the coverless duvet - nothing to say it was clean! A top sheet would have been a good option in the hot weather. Mirrors dirty and smeary. Kitchen was dirty - floor and countertops sticky. I spent time cleaning crockery; cups had tea stains, frypans had grease in them and saucepans dirty. Glassware greasy and dusty. Chipped crockery. Sauce splashes in the microwave. Opened packet of pasta spilled onto shelf, other peoples food stuffs should be thrown out as unhygienic. I could go on..... Garden furniture rusty and in need of a good clean. Brambles growing out along the patio area. Long nails sticking out from the fence. Generally the garden is weedy and tired looking, (ornaments require attention) and needs some TLC. Doesn't live up to the photos. Overall the cottage needed dusting and airing. A refresh on the day of arrival should be done if there is a gap between bookings. The garden should be tended to regularly.

10.0Never disappoints. This was my third stay. Such a beautiful location. Very peaceful. Lots of local walks. Nearby pubs in Barley and Roughlee.
