Excellent location in a village with all the amenities needed. Friendly local well stocked shop and two pubs, a coffee shop and bakery. Big comfortable bed and nice pillows. Milk in the fridge on arrival and some tea, coffee and sugar. Well equipped kitchen. Traditional old cottage.

The sofa in the lounge was not comfortable or restful after a day out exploring. More like a waiting room. Parking outside is now possible as a bollard has been erected. That said the village car park is just 100 yards up the road, and payment by donation.

Good but poorly maintained basic facilities.

6.0

The bed was very soft but actually quite comfortable. It was a small but cute place to stay. We didn’t get to use the garden and the summer house but they looked very good.

Linen was good although the bottom sheet wasn’t quite large enough to stay tucked in(!!) Bit odd! The fittings in the loo including the toilet seat were in very poor condition. It’s all very well saying that feedback will help future customers but we paid for this booking and I feel a bit cheated by having to muddle through with substandard equipment. As a hotel company it seems to me that you have one job, to ensure that your guests have the best experience not a compromise. The house is small - that’s fine you can’t control that - actually it’s a lot of its charm. What you can control are the fittings. Why aren’t they maintained and in good working order? Why isn’t the fridge fitted with a freezer compartment? It makes no sense. Why do we not receive a discount for the inconvenience of a toilet seat that slips off of the pan every time it’s sat on and tap fittings that fall apart or keep dripping long after you’ve tried to turn them off? Why am I being asked to act as an unpaid quality control inspector for your business?

Well appointed cottage with lots of character in the middle of scenic village

Location excellent on main street close to village centre. Comprehensive information supplied in good time Kitchen well stocked considering size with good Quality items. Plenty of character in an old building with very thick walls. Very effective central heating. Good use of space. Place we could relax and enjoy being there.

My wife did not find the sofa comfortable. Parking space outside is for a small car only although this was not a problem for us

Willow Cottage is small but is comfortable and has everything you need as a base for walking ir visiting local attractio

8.0

Close to local attractions. 3 pubs in the village within walking distance. Can get meals in at least one pub. Coffee shop, bakery and village shop nearby although coffee shop not open on a Monday. Bed was super comfortable. Cottage was small but had everything we needed. Welcome basket was appreciated. Excellent base for walkers or visiting Chatsworth House. Lovely garden and summer house. Would be great for summer barbecues.

The logs left for the log burner didn’t burn well and in the end we gave up on trying to keep the log burning going. Some instructions are provided online with cottage instructions but they need to be better. Having a log burner at home we know it was the logs that weren’t very good. Parking is only available outside the property if you have a very small car. The neighbour has put in a locked bollard to prevent parking over their area. Parking our car (Audi A2) outside, would have meant parking across the driveway of the other neighbour. We parked further up the road and there is a free car park further up the road just as you go out of the village.

Most comfortable bed ive ever slept in , lovely little village to explore the sourandings , only thing can complain about and its not really a complaint is the sofa was uncomfortable and the tv too small , maybe consider the other sofa in the garden conservatory to be in the lounge , and a TV in the bedroom would be excellent 😀 its nice to be comfy after a long walk ...
