Når porten til dette fantastiske sted åbnes.. der ligger i et dejligt og roligt område, kommer du ind til et sandt paradis. Værterne er helt fantastiske, søde og imødekommende og du føler dig omsluttet af hjemlighed. Haven er helt fantastisk, her vokser bananer, mango, avokado, og andre gode ting. Aberne kommer nogen gange forbi og ellers er der små fine egern, der er skønne at kigge på. Der ligger en skøn strand i gå afstand, og Unawatuna nås fint med Tuk tuk. Vi boede her i knap 3 måneder og vi havde alt til rådighed som vi behøvede. Vi boede i den store lejlighed. Har du brug for transport, er værten til rådighed og kører dig gerne i sin skønne bil til en ok pris. Værterne vil gøre alt for dig,så dit ophold bliver, så optimalt som muligt. Er du optaget af genbrugstanken og vores generelle miljø, er værterne i al deres ydmyghed, gode eksempler på at værne om natur og dyreliv. Vi kommer helt sikkert tilbage, da dele af vores hjerte er knyttet til dette vidunderlige sted og de fineste værter vi nogensinde har haft.

So many things to like, very much at " Birds Nest". Firstly..: the hosts themselves..and their son...ALL great company,polite to the extreme, welcoming me and genuinely making me feel part of 'The Family'...: inviting me to ,without hesitation, use or at least stroll through..: THEIR section of their beautiful, huge dwelling. My section..: superb. Starting in a great sized living area/totally reliable wifi/outstanding quality fittings /good lighting/an added attraction : a fish pond : one of these always adds /reflects thoughfulness on the hosts ! The adjacent bedroom and bathroom...great/more than adequate sized/air conditioned ..PLUS : mosquito free when simple precautions are taken,which do NOT detract from your comfort . Off the living room...huge kitchen..: ALL essential utensils/refrigerator/tea,coffee,kettle ,etc. Nothing 'missing' ! My hosts lovely wife...on at least 2 occasions..: provided me with a cooked home-made meal...: straight from THEIR oven ! No request by me...just simple generosity/warm heartedness . I can tell you...when away from your OWN country ..: without any prompting..: for someone to even think of that and then DO it...in a way..: that sums up " Birds Nest "..! Location..:outstanding,as a 10 minute walk takes you to the beach/great little pubs/small supermarket (all basic essentials and Visa Cards accepted !). I'd not hesitate in staying again and heartly recommend any other travellers to do likewise. ( Another great sized apartment is in the process of being completed...it will overlook an outstanding front lawn section...beautifully shaded section ..: just one more attraction of " Birds Nest' . I was very reluctant to leave...my time was limited : the only reason !)

− Look..in all honesty..: there was NOTHING to dislike ! I'd be very baffled by anyone who could find a 'dislike" with " Birds Nest " !

A peaceful retreat in a huge apartment close to the beautiful turtle beach

I spent a week here. NIshanttha and his family were wonderful hosts and made my stay exceptionally easy. They provided a transport service which was great for me as I had a lot of luggage and was travelling alone. The space itself is huge! The photos on the site don't really capture the size of the apartment which is one whole floor of the family's home. You'll have free access to a fully equipped kitchen (all yours) and laundry facilities (shared) this was a real bonus for me. The location was beautiful, an easy 15-20 minute walk to the main road and beach and 10 mins to the nearest restaurant which has a pool you can use too (Jungle restaurant- excellent). It is really away from the main bustle and I saw so many animals and birds, it was super peaceful. Highly recommend!

− This is just a personal dislike as I have a bad back but I found the mattress to be very hard.

The location was very convenient and the hosts were very kind! The accommodation was so beautiful and peaceful! We truly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very friendly were very helpful if we ever had any questions or needed help getting around the town. We had access to many amenities which was great for a long term stay! Would definitely come back again! We miss this place :)
