Beautiful but not as nice as it seems
5.0Beautiful location, lovely cottage.
− Only one working burner on the stovetop makes meal making difficult. Information sheet says tap water is filtered water from the lake. Drinking water is supposedly supplied, but the unit was not in working order. We arrived at 5:30pm on a chill, windy day October 12. Cottage was cold. Although heat pump worked, took several hours for the cottage to feel comfortably warm. Gas burning fireplace was non-functioning. Required to take garbage with you when checking out. As we were flying out the day of checkout it was most inconvenient to find a place to dump our trash and recycling. Booking.com agent suggested using trash facilities in either Camden or Belfast for a small fee. That is absolutely ridiculous to expect paying guests to pay to deposit their trash. Too many non-working appliances for the price we paid.
Loved the view, location and the memories made!
9.0Loved the location. Just what we were looking for!
− Didn’t explain in the description the spiral stair case.
A lovely, peaceful, much needed cabin in the woods!!
10.0The location was exactly what I was looking for. Deep in the woods... quiet and peaceful. The house was perfect for my family. Close to the general store, and for an extra 15 minutes of driving, close to a big grocery store. Such a beautiful place!!! I would definitely book here again.
− There is a pump for the sewage. This was not working correctly and I had to keep an eye on the high level light and if it went on I had to flip a switch and wait. A pain in the neck, and a worry I didn't want, but all in all not a huge deal. I suggest speaking to the cleaning crew. I dusted the bathroom because it was nasty. The fixtures were clean, but cobwebs in the corners and dust on the sills.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
7.0Location was beautiful. Beautiful view of the lake. We were happy that we could bring our small dog. Having kitchen staples already there was great and some bathroom toiletries provided.
− The mattresses were not very comfortable.
