A casa era muito confortável e o ambiente é super aconchegante. Dormimos muito bem, as camas e travesseiros são muito confortáveis. Tinha uma cozinha bem compacta, mas atendeu todas as nossas necessidades. O chuveiro tinha água quente e o ar condicionado funcionava muito bem. A equipe foi um grande diferencial. Lucas nos atendeu muito bem, apresentou um mapa de Providência, indicou as principais regiões e passeios. Além disso, nos ajudou a fechar o passeios de barco e aluguel de mule, sempre disposto a nos auxiliar.

− A localização é bem tranquila, ideal para quem busca estar em contato com a natureza. Porém, tivemos que realizar todos os deslocamentos com mule, pois não tem mercados ou restaurantes que acessamos caminhando.

Doris and César make you feel at home. Anything you need - from borrowing eggs to being able to rely on a emergency drive to the hospital – you are taken care of. It’s obvious that there is just as much care for their guests as there is creativity in the charming holiday homes and the flowery garden. It was lovely waking up surrounded by beautiful palm trees and cooking at home. Drinking water is provided and it was fantastic that the space was cleaned every day. Thank you for this special stay ❤️

− The beach is further than 10min and than anticipated so better rent a scooter. Therefore it is nice and quiet most of the nights. There will be some insects but you will get those anywhere on the islands – the stow away boxes and big mosquito net are very useful.

The cutest, quietest cabin

This was our favourite property in 5 weeks of travelling. It was so cute and very very quiet. The photos don't do it justice. We loved it. The owners were very friendly and helpful but don't speak English, luckily we speak some Spanish. We could walk to Manzanilla beach but the best beach was South West Beach and loved El Divino Nino bar. You need a bike or buggy to get around which the owners organised for us as well as any trips you want to do.

A Pristine Tropical Oasis on Providencia

The unspoiled tropical island of Providencia has much to offer intrepid travelers who seek to discover a more simple and tranquil way of life. Just off the main road, down a small rustic driveway, are the casitas which compose the Hotel Yellow Home property. Immersed in a lush tropical garden, these meticulously crafted, modernized casitas are a truly wonderful respite from the world. Each quaint wooden house boasts a unique personality, with distinctively comfortable bedding (inclusive of mosquito net), air conditioning, full size bathrooms, and a perfectly minimalist living area with kitchen, dining table, and patio. This is the essence of ecotourism and outdoor living - the opportunity to stay in a tropical garden where the ocean breeze greets you in the morning and the smell of bougainvillea flowers is all around you. The property is managed by Doris and Ceasar - who are the most welcoming, friendly, courteous, and genuinely helpful people you could expect to meet on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean. Doris and Ceasar welcomed me personally and provided me with insights about the island, and helped me rent a 4x4 Kawasaki mule that was waiting for me when I arrived. Staying at Yellow Home on Providencia provides the experience of truly being away from the world - in a tropical sanctuary - a perfect “base” for exploring the island. Just up the road is Playa Manzanillo - one of the most spectacular beaches on the island, and the location of Roland’s Reggae Bar (which you can’t miss). The property has Starlink, which provides digital nomad’s or travel bloggers the opportunity to stay connected while remaining isolated in this island oasis. Aside from the absolute beauty of the property itself, the casitas afford the experience of genuine island living, which is a difficult thing to find as the Caribbean continues to become commercially developed. This property is the ultimate value on the island, and an opportunity to experience genuine island living.

− There are roosters on nearby farms - so if you're a light sleeper in the early morning - bring some ear plugs.

Leicht ungepflegte Anlage und lauter Umgebung

Die abgeschiedene Lage in der Nähe vom sehr schönen Strand Manzanillo war prima. Das Bett in unserem Ferienhaus war bequem, Handtücher und auch Bettwäsche wurden regelmäßig gewechselt. Die Gastgeber waren anfänglich freundlich und haben uns gute Tipps für die Zeit auf Providencia gegeben.

− Leider begann der Aufenthalt gleich schlecht: unsere Reservierung für das Ferienhaus wurde nicht respektiert, dafür wurden wir in eine beengte Bruchbude mit Wasserrohrschaden einquartiert. Andere Gäste waren noch in unserem Ferienhaus… wir konnten erst ein Tag später umziehen, was unschön war - dafür gab es keine Entschuldigung, sondern nur der Hinweis, dass man dachte, es würde uns im Haus 1 besser gefallen… eine kleine Entschädigung wurde uns dann nach Protest zugesprochen Leider sind alle Hütten sehr einfach ausgestattet, die Böden sind schwer sauber zu halten, überall Spinnweben. Die Küche ist Basic; Der Garten und das kleine Tauchbecken sind eigentlich hübsch angelegt, aber wenig gepflegt - da müsste mal ein guter Gärtner ran. Auch wenn die Unterkunft abgeschieden liegt, ist es dort ziemlich laut: umliegende Diskotheken mit lauter Musik, bellende Hunde und schreiende Hähne stören die Nachtruhe. Ohrstöpsel nicht vergessen!! Nach freundlicher Verabschiedung gab es dann noch einen Konflikt: wir sollten trotz vollständiger Überweisung auch der schlechten ersten Nacht noch einen weiteren Service bezahlen. Und dies erfolgte nach freundlicher Absage meinerseits extrem unhöflich und unverschämt. Ich kann daher die Unterkunft nicht empfehlen.

The cabin was perfect with a comfortable bed and hammock. I loved that it had paintings by Doris on the walls. Doris and Cesar were lovely kind hosts. Also in an ideal location to do the hike to El Pico.

− I didn't realise it was such a walk from restaurants - about 15 minutes up and down hill to the beach. It would be easier to have your own transport if staying here.....
