Very good

The location of the apartment could not be better. Right in the middle of the High street and a 2 minute walk to the Cathedral. Also near the bus station. The apartment itself is very good indeed and on the second floor. 60 steps. Comfortable and well designed with minimalist but tasteful decor. Comfy bed and lovely bath/shower.

We had nothing to criticise at all for the first day and night but sadly the second and third nights were badly disturbed by noise from above. Loud bangs and crashes and loud talking. We were not able to sleep between 2am and 5.30 on both nights which left us feeling very tired for our long journey. I reported it to Booking.com but their reply did not fill me with confidence that they would sort this problem out. Apparently nobody else had complained about it before.

Very central, Lots of stairs

7.0

A very central apartment, right on the High Street, with a nice view of the Cathedral from the living room window. Despite being so central, it was quiet at night and the bed was comfy. The shower was also very nice and it was very clean.

The only way to access the tv was by using your own log-in details (which I didn't bring on holiday). I did ask for help but the suggestion was for me to change my password using my phone. Since I wasn't happy to do this, we did not have access to the tv for the entire stay, which was a shame as I would have liked to have watched the women's Euros. Please note that the stairs are quite steep and there are a lot of them (40 - I counted!). The apartment was somewhat minimilist. There was one sofa, a small table and two dining chairs, and a hanging rack rather than a wardrobe. I also feel that half a toilet roll for 2 people for 3 nights is somewhat on the mean side! Hand wash provided but no shower gel, milk, kitchen towels etc. It gave the impression that the absolute bare minimum was provided, which compared badly with the apartment we had just left in Hastings, where all kinds of goodies were left for us to enjoy. I got many emails from the company in advance of our arrival, all of them identical, and a rather aggressive note saying that if the rubbish wasn't taken out at the end of the stay, they would charge £40, which seems less than friendly for a holiday let. The sash window in the bedroom does not stay open on it's own so in view of how hot the weather was, we had to prop it open with a magazine. All in all, the apartment was ok, especially in terms of it's location, but I wouldn't return and probably wouldn't recommend it to family.

We got by ok. Just don’t have too high of expectations.

The good: Great downtown location and very clean. Well equipped kitchen.

The bad: No proximate parking making luggage handling a real chore. No elevator and three sets of narrow stairs to number 5. Street entry is a plain door next to Taco Bell with a guy sleeping in the next doorway. The ugly: No toiletries, not even a bar of soap. A clothes washer is advertised. It’s there but there’s no dryer. Don’t plan on doing any laundry.

Very spacious, modern conveniences new and clean. The property is extremely central to everything.

The hike in from the parking area, and being charged 150 pounds to park was a shock, so not having parking available was an issue. The apartment needs sound proofing, as you can hear everything your neighbours are doing. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t see out to the street, without a window view at all, and that the lounge room view was quite a lot more obstructed than I thought it would be.
