Casa Palopó completely won us over!! The beautiful design, breathtaking location, stunning lake views and peaceful atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. The restaurant and its service were excellent.

− The only small area for improvement would be the pool service, as there was no service to order drinks or cocktails while relaxing by the pool. A minor detail that, if improved, would make the experience absolutely perfect.

Stairway to Heaven.

Loved the Staff and food at both restaurants and the hotel but be prepared to walk up and down stairs. It's on the side of a mountain if you didn't know. Would I stay there again, you bet, in a heartbeat. It's that good. Take the helicopter though, it's a long ride from Antigua or Guatemala City by taxi. I should mention, while there are many stairs/steps throughout the property, the hotel staff is very accommodating and will zip you up and down in their cart anytime and anywhere you need it. There is a funicular that will take you to the lake level.

− Soooo many stairs if you want to go up or down the mountain, but the hotel is not an issue.

The property has amazing views but the service especially at the 6.8 restaurant was a big letdown

The views of the lake were stunning. The suite I stayed at (Santa Clara) was very spacious. The colorful buildings

− I planned my whole trip in Guatemala just to experience Casa Palopo and I was massively disappointed. I had dinner at their restaurant called 6.8. In the middle of the restaurant was a big group (around 15-20) loud, young Americans having dinner. I got seated next to them and requested to be transferred. The entire dinner was dominated by their loud obnoxious conversations. The whole ambience is ruined. I can get pass that since this is a restaurant. However, the staff were so busy tending to them, I didn't get the appropriate service I was expecting at a Relais & Chateaux property like the Palopo. I constantly was trying to get their attention. Service was slow. There was a stretch of over 30 minutes where no one checked up on me. I finally stood up and approached them to get a refill of water and get my check simultaneously. I was very upset and informed the front desk of what happened. She said that this will be communicated to her superior. I never received any calls nor acknowledgement of what happened. I also stayed at their sister property in Antigua called "Villa Bokeh" and that was a far superior property in all fronts - especially the service. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.
