Filthy, dated, and not worth the money
2.0The location is fantastic and the view lovely. The bathrooms were clean and the bedrooms were a good size. It was easy to get into the property as the instructions were clear.
− 1) The bedroom linen was FILTHY. We had black, yellow and brown marks on my linen. 2) the actual duvets and pillows were the cheapest possible. They felt like hospital pillows 3) The kitchen was disgusting. Every utensil and piece of cooking equipment was dirty. I am not being picky - they were so dirty that you just needed to wipe one piece of dry kitchen roll on them and it would come off brown. 4) The instructions (which have been there for ages... clearly aren't new) say that the primary hob doesn't work. Nobody has attempted to fix this. 5) There is a lovely big coal / log burner. No fuel or instructions are provided. 6) The TV instructions say that you should plug in a laptop so that you can watch netflix etc. However, the wifi is so poor that you can't stream anything. I couldnt even look up a location on google maps.... 7) All the windows have curtain rails which are empty. It has clearly all been removed so that only the blinds can be used. Takes away any warmth from the property 8) The furniture is dated and completely functional. The sofas are easy to wipe down and are at least 20 years old. 9) The upstairs bedroom light cracked at the socket when turned on. 10) The blind in the upstairs bedroom is broken and doesnt pull up.
A good family trip. Local food (The Golden Palace) was amazing !
7.0The location.
− The location is simply stunning.
Excellent location
7.0Very comfortable beds, lovely fresh bedding and plenty of towels. Excellent location, lots to do. Views are amazing. Warm house, once heated up.
− Such a pity as 1st impressions on entering house not great, as extremely cold and my guess is house hadn't been heated in a long time.No fuel/ logs for fire. However after leaving heating on for long period it started to warm up.And then during our stay it remained warm. The flooring is old state tiles, looks nice but very cold. The two bedroom are located in open mezzanine level, which is quiet noisy if trying to watch TV in living room. And for us and our needs, with children there is no such separate upstairs therefore noise echos all around the house with loud Acoustics in open plan living room/kitchen. We had a lovely stay due to area/location - amazing. But feel the house is in need of a little love and TLC.Which is achievable with some small changes. Having mentioned all of the above it really depends on what your family needs are when choosing holiday home.If your top priority is location and views then Meela lough is for you.
