Quirky Victorian adventure

8.0

Very beautiful house and fun to see inside such an old beauty. It’s great they are restoring it.

The bed was really uncomfortable. The window above the door let the hall light right onto our faces in bed and should have been blacked out as turning the hall lights off would have made others getting to the restroom tough. Check in was weirdly limited to 4-6pm which made us cut our travel short to get there.

Beautiful location, great ambiance. Very nice and inviting hosts.

Some of the amenities listed weren't available 😕 due to renovation. However I definitely will return when all the construction is done. I don't regret my stay there.

A nightmare!

1.0

Upon arrival after travelling eight hours, we were greeted by a voice on the ring button, advising us that he had only one room available rather than the two we had booked and paid for. Mario proceeded to advise us that he couldn't help us and that it was Booking.com's fault and that we could probably find rooms in the town. No apology or help to help us find lodgings. Luckily we walked and found the Carter House Inn where they accommodated us with better rooms, free parking and free breakfast. Definitely, book with the Carter House Inn!

Nicely updated - pretty rooms

Sketchy people hanging around outside. Didn’t receive the specific room I booked.

Overall very disappointing !! Thought this was a bed and breakfast. Never saw any employee. .

The best thing was the TV with a wide choice of streaming services. The bathroom was OK but shower water took forever to get hot.

The room was cold. Had to request a small space heater which didn't make much difference unless you sat right in front of it. The memory foam mattress must have been old as it did not offer much support. There was no breakfast - only a Kurig coffee maker. We just forfeited our second night and checked into a local hotel.

Best sleep at a hotel in years!

Quiet, comfortable. Cool old house, tall ceilings and decent size room for old house. Surprisingly quiet as well. No loud creaking when people moved around. Shared bathroom/shower aren’t ideal, however well maintained and cleaned. Kind of nostalgic.

Because it is a heritage home and owners are trying to keep in original condition, they ask that you don’t wear street shoes inside. They have slippers they provide. The slippers/flip flops were way too small for Me. I don’t really like wearing shoes other people have worn. With that said the owner appeared to keep things clean. There were some sketchy homeless in the area, and were told to not leave valuables in car.
