Magnificent Valley View
9.0We selected Valley View House for our visit as we wanted accommodation that would take the whole family (less the dog) and was located in a pleasant area. It certainly satisfied the requirement and the 7 adults and 3 children (under 8) had a fine old time in the magnificent New Forest location. Lovely colorful valley views at this time of year. We booked the main house plus the Annex which permitted the older members of the party to avoid the early starts the main house occupants had. The whole property is high spec, well provisioned, comfortable and very well maintained. We had a go on the kitchen Arga but other cooking options were available ! The newly installed air sourced heat pump was doing a sterling job and in conjunction with the Arga, it dried all those rain soaked clothes and shoes out overnight (perhaps a good job the dog wasn't invited). Children's games were provided and these seemed to occupy the youngsters for some time. The large garden was visited and explored countless times and the fishing nets provided could also be used as witches broomsticks!!! A torchlight exploration of the adjacent heathland was also enjoyed. A local walk to the cafe at Hyde seemed popular too. A great place to start a walk or a biking trip, if one is available, or a circular tour of the forest in the car. Thank you for sharing your magnificent property.
− 10 visitors ....numerous opinions but two comments came up more than once. 1) Its October and getting cooler... but some areas of the house were too hot for the house occupants (bedrooms at night) and despite the zone monitors, we didn't seem to have a mechanism to reduce the temperature and that Arga is on the whole time. The Annex room temperatures were fine although we did seem to lose the heating and water control once until a WiFi booster was reset in the main house. 2) Some members commented about the lack of shower and hair cleaning products in the bathrooms. (Others brought their own!)
