7.0Fantastic location close to the heart of Gujo Hachiman. An easy walk to the Gujo Odori and all night dancing for Obon.
− Staff did not meet us at the appointed time for check in or respond to texts via Booking.com—creating anxiety that we would not have a place to stay. We didn’t have SMS service in Japan and had to ask for someone to call on our behalf. We were offered free parking but were asked to pay for it. Staff woke us up to tell us we were late checking out—a day early.

6.0Location and kind host very attentive
− We appreciated certain aspects of our stay, but we have to admit we were somewhat disappointed overall. The house felt a bit neglected, and the general atmosphere didn’t make us feel particularly welcome. It’s a shame, because with just a little more attention to detail — both in terms of upkeep and hospitality — it could really be a great place. Given the overall quality of other accommodations in the area, this one, unfortunately, didn’t quite measure up.
