Terrible communication
1.0Not applicable, booked as a last minute getaway however it turns out the property didn’t let booking.com know it wasn’t available due to ‘maintenance work’. Due to this I was left £770 out of pocket and not able to book a replacement as I now have to wait for my refund in 10 days!! I spent 3.5 hours trying to speak with the property on the phone but they don’t pick up, only response to texts. Rather than saying there was a mix up straight away I was left for hours repeatedly questioning my booking. Such a shame from Belvoir Holiday Homes, would have expected better
Could be fabulous but not up to standard and lack of communication lets it down.
5.0The location was the reason we booked. Having visited Belvoir before we knew that the Engine Yard was just over the road for breakfast. We had a super walk along the canal into Woolsthorpe.
− We booked the cottage to celebrate my 50th Birthday. It was the very cold snap during the beginning of January. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was that there had been no heating on in the cottage. It was Baltic! We had to cook and eat tea in our coats. I tried to reach out to the duty manager, using the number in the welcome email, to find out where we could get logs from. The phone wasn't answered so I sent a text. That was read but never replied to. We found a local shop and got some logs and warmed up in front of the fire. The cottage was finally warm by the morning. When we left for our walk we were disappointed to see lots of rubbish spilling from the wheelie bin by the gate and spreading throughout the hedge. Not a pretty sight or good for the environment. This had been mentioned in other reviews on a different site. We had a nice time for my birthday but the cottage did not live up to expectations or the quality I had come to expect by reading the information here or on the Belvoir castle website. On returning home I received a message asking for my feed back, which I gave, very similar to this, yet never received a response. Very poor customer relations. I could not recommend booking a stay here.
It was lovely, so authentically homely, very welcoming
10.0Clear and easy instructions
− Some form of lighting at the gate. We missed it twice in the fog
