Senaka and his family were very kind; they welcomed me as part of the family. Senaka also showed me around and shared his wisdom. I recommend this place to all travelers looking to broaden their horizons

I had a great time at Serenity house, Seneka is very welcoming, and so his family is. Seneka also brought me for a walk on a mountain close to the accomodation and went with me to the cave temples. He also helped organise a trip to Sigirya. He taught me a lot about Buddhism which was super interesting. Also, his wife Lalitha cooks amazing food.

If you are looking for authentic, simple accomodation with a beautiful extended family this is the place to be. Seneca and his family could not do enough to make us comfortable and we were truly made to feel part of the family. The house is quite difficult to find and on a family compound, if you take the road to the caves (which are in easy walking distance) , turn left and Serenity lodge is in the first entrance in the left. Or ask for Seneca he is a real character and everyone knows him, he also offers meditation and healing treatments. It it great value for money and a unique experience Thank you Seneca and your family for your welcome and hospitality ✌🏻 ❤️

It was truly a pleasure to be welcomed by this lovely Sri Lankan family, living surrounded by greenery just outside the city, near the caves. The house is full of life, with children, cousins, nieces, aunts… and even a newborn just 14 days old! It was a genuine and very enjoyable experience. Unforgettable also was Senaca's wisdom, kindness and Senaca's friend, who made us laugh so much with his great sense of humor. The guest room is truly unique: built in a tree, it offers a simple but special stay. If you're not looking for luxury but want to experience something different and get to know a wonderful local family, this is the perfect place

The owner is absolutely wonderful. He makes sure your every need is met and will also give you great life advice. His wife prepares amazing food every day and tea is readaly availabe. We arrived in the middle of the night (3 am) and the owner was there to accomodate us. The location is also great as you have quick access to the buddist cave temples.

The shower hygene. It is run down and has a lot of mold, when we were there was no warm water, as a monkey had damaged the shower a couple of days earlier.
