9.0The staff and the host were really nice and helpful. The place is quite spacious. I enjoyed my time there.
Memorable and very recommendable
10.0Breakfast: as we all had different sleeping patterns we made our own breakfast - fruits, eggs etc was plentiful. The very private location on Manda island was soothing and serene and very beautiful -the house itself a unique architecture with wonderful Lamu furniture and decorations.the swimming pool delightful and our junior spent hours and hours in it playing with her mum

Beware, the owner is a dangerous criminal and the listing is full of lies
1.0If you’re looking for isolation and don’t mind paying a small fortune every time you want to go anywhere or do anything, this place is gold. It is very beautiful
− The owner is a liar and a thief. His booking.com listing is full of lies and when one of my guests had heavy period flow, he demanded 200 US dollars for damage to the sheets. I tried to escape but the locals warned me he was very well-connected in the government and it was physically dangerous to cross him. I am only describing the final incident in a very fraught relationship we had: every day I had an extremely unpleasant conversation with that man about one or another of his lies (for example, he lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and cash as accepted modes of payment; in fact, he only accepts M-Pesa and it cost me more than 50 US dollars to go to the bank, withdraw the money and pay it into my M-Pesa account). I left a day early and went to an hotel in the village across the bay; when I told them I had been staying with Mr Sherman, they made big eyes and said, “Oh my God, I know that man!”, and regailed me with horror stories of other guests to his properties; then they gave me a free upgrade from a single to the penthouse
