9.0- Great location - cool layout, especially the communal area - comfy beds & spacious rooms - Really friendly, big fluffy hostel cat, who was happy to say hi :) It was obvious the staff looked after him well & he was much loved. Staff had forewarned me he could be grumpy, but he seemed really friendly to almost everyone - Seconds away from a Chagee tea shop on the ground floor - really good selection of drinks for sale at the bar at reception!
− - Maybe put up a sign saying not to tease the cat: I saw this maybe twice when staff had stepped outside briefly, and may explain why the cat can sometimes be grumpy, as I was forewarned by staff - It could be a good idea to give reception/bar staff a quick refresher on how to pour draught beer: The poor lady on reception/bar duty one evening struggled when I ordered a pint of asahi on tap, and kept filling the glass half full with foam, meaning the beer was flat by the time I got it. I struggle to pour a pint myself, so I felt her pain :(
An comfortable and convenient hostel
8.0The dorm room was very large. There was plenty of space next to the beds to store a backpack etc. There was a laundry option which was really affordable. Right next to the hostel there is a really nice old town, with great views on the river. Go here with sunset!
− The shared rooms like the toilets and showers felt a bit outdated and were not clean all the time. Also, the hostel is a 10 minute walk to the subway, which is okay, but sometimes felt a bit long in Chongqinq’s heat.
