Garden oasis away from it all, but only for younger people due to pool issues

Location was good, set well away from noisy bars, but easy to walk down to in the evening. Being close to Lidl was useful, plenty of parking and it was a delight to come back to our own secluded garden, which was an oasis and well cared for. Apartment well set up, modern and stylish, everything we needed was in the kitchen. Air conditioning units in every room, though we only used them in the 2 bedrooms.

− We paid extra to have an apartment with a pool, it was a lovely size, about hip height for me at the shallow end, and I could just stand on tiptoes at the deep end. The water was crystal clear, but no steps or ladder to gain access to it! I could just about make my way down onto the ground in order to get in, but ended up with lots of scraped knees and legs. It was even more difficult to get out each time, between the rough non-slip sloping edging stones, the plastic racking for the filter system and the composite decking (warped in places) there was nowhere comfortable to sit on the side, so I did not use the pool as often as I hoped as no amount of yoga prepared me for the effort of climbing in and out. I may be in my 50’s but at home I often swim 1km, so was really looking forward to this pool. My friend is 74, she walks, she climbs steps, she swims but she could not get down on the ground to get into the pool, she was really upset and felt discriminated against. We came to Cyprus to visit her family and whilst Protaras is a good location between family and airport, she will not be using that apartment again. The other to thing to note is the Wi-Fi only works from the kitchen out towards the pool, I was in the larger front bedroom with it’s own sitting room, and the wi-fi login and options disappeared there and latched onto someone else’s unsecure account which was a bit of a nuisance. (Just to note, the tiles on patio and in apartment are beautiful, but bring sliders/flip flops, as if you have wet feet they flooring turns into an ice rink).

The perfect vacation spot in Protaras

Perfect location. Lidl is just across the street and 200 meters to the main street with all the shops and restaurants. BBQ also very good and we used it a lot. The swimming pool is approx 8 x 4 meters which makes it very functional in comparison to the tiny pools in other similar properties. This one you can actually use!
