A stunning, cozy escape to a Welsh paradise!

10.0

My partner, our pooch, and I had a stunning escape from London to this Welsh paradise. Ideally situated for exploring Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and the local Ceredigion, the accommodation was the real highlight. Our room was spotless and stylish, featuring huge, modernist slanted windows that flooded the space with natural light, we loved the aesthetic of the windows so much they're now on our wish list for our own home! We slept incredibly well in the huge bed and enjoyed the powerful hot showers. We spent lots of time relaxing in the cottage, catching up on The Traitors or scrolling on our phones (guilty). For evenings out, we loved The Pentre Arms in Llangrannog, an atmospheric spot right on the waves where I watched my beloved Arsenal win. On cozy nights in, we grabbed a delicious curry from Sugandha in Aberporth. Breakfast was amazing; I had the pancakes every day because they were so good! Kathryn and Richard are the warmest, most professional hosts we've met in a decade. We will definitely return.

Leaving the place, could have done with a few more nights... :(

Location and equipment - also the breakfast options were fantastic.

Open from bedroom to living area meaning the emergency exit light was always visible.

Peaceful haven with wonderful hosts

9.0

Our stay at Penbontbren was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were delighted by the beautiful grounds and the lovely property, which had everything we could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we both slept like babies every night. The little terrace facing the garden was the perfect spot to enjoy a cuppa or a glass of wine, and the peace and quiet of the surroundings were exactly what we needed to unwind. And on clear nights, the stargazing was incredible – we could see thousands of stars twinkling above. The hosts, Kathryn and Richard, were friendly and attentive, genuinely interested in getting to know us and ensuring we were happy during our stay. They gave us lots of great recommendations for local beaches and places to eat - we particularly enjoyed The Plwmp Tart! The breakfast was delicious, with locally sourced ingredients that showcased the best of Welsh produce. And let's not forget Pip, the lovely friendly dog who welcomed us with a wagging tail every time we returned to the property! 🐾 The location was ideal, with beautiful beaches just a short drive away. We particularly loved Penbryn beach, which is run by the National Trust and had a stunning stretch of golden sand. Overall, Penbontbren was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in beautiful surroundings. Thank you to the hosts for making our stay so special – we can't wait to come back! 🌟🏠🌿
