An old and kind of dirty place with a stunning view.
7.0The view was beautiful, and we enjoyed listening to the ocean from the apartment. The cafe was delicious.
− The bed was small and pretty hard. The shower didn’t drain well so you had to stand in a pool of water while showering. There was dog hair on the floor and furniture. The kitchen wasn’t very well stocked. Some windows with broken screens or no screens at all. The deck boards were super old and missing screws so they were different levels. The bathroom window looked out to dumpsters.
Loved the vibe
10.0I loved the view! The staff was kind and eager to lend a hand if needed! Having the little Cafe downstairs was great.
− The only thing that was kind of a bummer was the access to the beach. For me it was fine but my Aunt struggles with bad knees so getting up and down to the beach was difficult for her. That aside it was a perfect getaway!!!
Anniversary trip sabotaged by a greedy owner.
1.0I liked the manager, Nickie. She was kind and looked out for us. If it wasn't for her, we would have had to turn around and drive home. Her customer service was exceptional and I appreciate her kindness. Nickie is the only bright spot this motel has!
− When we arrived at the property we were greeted by the manager. She told us the owner had cancelled our room because there was a problem with my payment method. The owner never even attempted to contact me regarding payment. She gave the room to someone who was staying more days than we were. I reserved a king suite with a spa tub. We drove two hours to this destination. Upon arrival, the manager informed us she had blocked out a replacement room for us. It was a double queen room--not what I had reserved and confirmed. The manager told us we could have that room or we were welcome to try another hotel. We ended up staying at the Oceanfront Inn because the whole town of Shelter Cove was completely sold out. The room was not impressive at all. There was no place to put your clothes and the bathroom was dated. The beds were super uncomfortable and the pillows were even worse. This is a motel I will never give my business to again. My review may have been different if the owner was not such a horrible human.
