Modern, well equipped and very comfortable
10.0Collected the keys from the lovely cafe/gift shop on site - that was a nice surprise in itself. The staff were all very friendly and we can recommend the breakfast in the cafe.
− The view from the cottage is limited, but nothing can be done about that due to its position. When we stayed, the campsite was empty (as you'd expect in February!) but in summer when the campsite is in use, the cottage will be less secluded and there will be plenty of people and cars passing by both sides of the property.
Good
8.0The property itself was excellent. The fittings, the furniture and the facilities were of a very high standard. It is also a great location for walking.
− It was disappointing that after we had booked we were then charged a further £25 for our dog. We should have been told up front when we booked. Also the cafe located next door was not dog friendly.
Exceptional
10.0Clean, comfortable, welcoming. Easy, secure parking. Nice sheets, linens. TVs in both bedrooms. Kitchen well equipped. Dog was welcomed with bowls and a dog bed in the property. Good on site facilities. Enjoyed the breakfast pastries that you can pre order. Friendly staff.
− Would be good to have a hairdryer. Also some hooks for coats.
Generally very good, very nice inside but needs a few finishing touches outside.
9.0Location very good
− Fence not completed so not completely dog friendly, also gap under property gate.
4 out of 5, with a few tweaks could be outstanding.
8.0Very modern. Good appliances, very comfortable beds and furnishings. Great location just a few minutes from Tennyson down with plenty of dog friendly walks within easy reach. Good pub 2 mins walk away. Lots of attention to detail with the sheep doorstops, the place mats etc. Lovely soft towels provided. Very good welcome guide and a welcome pack with wine, milk and biscuits. Handy little on site shop and very attentive staff. Shout out to Alex who dealt with the couple of issues we had very promptly.
− WiFi advertised is very poor, download speed tested at 3.12mb/s. Not necessarily a big deal when you are on holiday but when the tv is a smart tv expect lots of buffering. The cottage accepts dogs but the garden is not secure so be aware of this. It could be very easily secured so I hope that will happen. Could do with a couple of coat hooks, there are none! Value for money? Early July and around £240 per night, have stayed in accommodation equally as nice for less. However, still a very nice place to stay and I would consider going back.
Beautiful Property for a remote time away
9.0Beautiful property, tastefully decorated with very good quality appliances. Found both beds to be very comfy and slept well. Quiet area. Had plenty of local walks around the area to Freshwater, Needles and Totland. Very close to Yarmouth Port (10 minute drive). Took 45 mins to get to the other side of the island.
− The internet was very slow and kept dropping, but appreciate it’s a very remote area and it’s good to get off it anyway!
