Unacceptable service and unprofessional staff completely ruined our experience.
1.0The hotel itself is fantastic: very beautiful buildings and surroundings.
− The hotel staff at reception were absolutely horrible and unprofessional, especially the main manager (the lady at the reception). The attitude we got from the first message received through booking was equivalent to a 1-star hotel (which I still would not have accepted), and throughout our stay, we were treated as if we were staying at a cheap motel. Absolutely unacceptable for such a high price point and at such a beautiful hotel. This attitude ruined our stay. Most importantly, 1. We were not given clear and humane directions/answers to our questions when we were driving to the hotel to find the entrance. 2. We were wrongly advised on the availability of rental boats at the hotel, and we did not rent a boat one day when we could have easily rented one (we later discovered that this was possible). 3. We were given high prices for all taxis when we asked for taxi transportation, citing “tourist” prices, and the hotel was discovering prices, as if for the first time in their lives. 4. A chef and food delivery were included in our apartment; however, we were never given any food, never advised on what they could prepare for us, and when I asked about the chef, I was told that we did not have anything included. I later found the written confirmation that we had everything included. 5. We were not given the option to buy alcohol from the hotel bars, even though the staff could have easily walked a few meters to get us what we wanted. We can probably find more examples if we dig deeper. We plan to send a formal complaint to the hotel's management via email because what we experienced is unacceptable, and the hotel needs to review its reception staff and fire the lady who seemed to be the manager there.
