I had filled in the check-in information in advance and informed the host of my estimated arrival time. On the day of arrival, I also sent a message via Booking.com, but the host did not reply. Around 7:30 p.m., I sent an SMS to the phone number, which is provided by the Booking.com confirmation, yet received no response. When I arrived at the property around 7:50 p.m., I tried to call the host, but realized that the phone number does not yet exist. At 8:10 p.m., the host sent a message through Booking.com, providing the building entrance code and the floor of the apartment — but not the password for the lockbox, which containing the keys. We couldn’t open it to get the key. I sent several messages to the host again through booking.com, but no any answer. I then contacted Booking.com customer service, and after several calls and long waits, they began to search for an alternative hotel for us. Finally, at 10:55 p.m., the host sent a message via WhatsApp per a new phone number, which is never appeared in any documents from booking.com, with the lockbox code, and then we were able to enter the apartment. We had been waiting anxiously on a cold and windy street, communicating repeatedly with Booking.com staff — struggling for nearly 3 hours. It was an extremely frustrating and unpleasant experience, unlike anything I’ve encountered before!

− Booking.com should verify the phone numbers provided from hosts. If a host does not check or respond to guest messages on the Booking.com platform in a timely manner, guests should at least be able to contact the host directly by phone.

un piso precioso y bien comunicado

− Habia un problema con un lavabo y mandaron a alguien a verlo sin avisarnos. Deberian habernoslo comunicado o haberlo arreglado antes de mandar a un desconocido al piso en nuestra vacaciones. Nos negamos al arreglo ya que no era importante para nosotros y no teniamos porque estar pendiente en nuestras vacaciones del horario de los trabajadores de la agencia. Respetaron nuestra decisión.
