A reasonable place to stay
6.0Good location. The staff were very helpful and responsive. The supplied toiletries were good. We appreciated having a small fridge although it didn’t seem to keep anything cold.
− The mattress was far too soft and spongy. As a result the bed was uncomfortable. Maybe this is personal preference and it wouldn’t bother other people.

9.0Bed was very comfortable. Food was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. The Foxton Locks down the road are amazing. An engineering feat and definetly worth a visit. Fascinating.

10.0Recently been taken over and you can tell they’re already making a big difference. Rooms are being updated, the food is excellent. Breakfasts were just delicious and supper had good menu and we were very pleased to be able to invite old friends along to enjoy a meal. Bar staff friendly and quick. Wonderfully relaxed and peaceful environment.

Functional but not enjoyable for us.
4.0The location was good for our needs. Pleasant beer garden and terrace. The shower was hot and powerful, but too big for the cubicle. Breakfast would be cooked to order, however we didn’t use the offer.
− We had no house keeping service on our room that day. We left in the morning and returned after 11pm - no bed made or clean dry towels. Apologies at in the morning but no offer of any compensation. No follow up call or message so far. The mattress had seen better days and was almost flat. Bed sheet apparently laundered but not ironed. There was no proper hanging space, just a large chest of drawers.

8.0Perfect location for us, close to the canal and locks. Comfortable room and large en suite. Nice enough having a small fridge and fab available. Beautiful dinner on Saturday night
− A wardrobe or better hanging space would be useful. 10am checkout feels a little early but understand why
