Bed was comfy, front door was flimsy and could easily be forced open.

It had a kettle, fridge, washing up liquid, sponge and drying rack

− There were bugs and moths all over the windows and in the shower. I had a very busy trip at a caravan park during the day with my children and only went back to sleep at the lodge. To be fair to the owners I didn’t message at the time to say there was a problem as I was running around so much during the day. Once I left I did message the owners to say if my experience and asked for a partial refund as I didn’t sleep well. once I’d had time to think about it i felt as though the room hadn’t been cleaned properly and the problem had def been there a while. The response I received was defensive. I was accused of taking photos instead of immediately contacting them which was my fault. The photos were taken in the morning the day I was leaving. I only had 2 nights at the lodge. I should’ve in hindsight contacted on my first night but I was so busy and rushed out I thought I would just keep the bathroom door closed. I then realised when I got back at midnight that there were also bugs in the room. I really didn’t get a chance to think about it until midnight when I was returning back to the room. Although I should’ve made contact there shouldn’t have been such a problem from the first instance, the window and shower were not cleaned before I came in. It was clear the moths especially had been there a while. It wasn’t as simple as the bugs came in because the previous guests had left a window open.

Great price and a good base for exploring.

Fantastic location. Great for footpaths and bridle ways to Dunwich and Southwold. Price - very cheap for Walberswick. All the basics are there.

− It’s an old property. There are lots of plumbing gurgles and dripping cisterns etc. We couldn’t get hot water - think the tank was empty from other guests and it took a long time to refill.

Loved the set up. Simple, everything you need and spacious.

− The mattress is seriously in need of replacement. The springs stick into shoulders and hips. Definitely time for a new mattress at least in the room I was in!

− Shower difficult to operate, couldn't always get hot water; mattresses and pillows could be firmer.

Location ok

− The shower was terrible. The hot tap in the sink had to be on for hot water in the shower. Even then, it would suddenly change from very hot to cold. Cleanliness could be improved. Kitchenette is very dated.
