The room is comfortable cool and clean with mini fridge and kettle. The property is nearby to the beach easy walking access. Beach was lovely and clean. shahan the host has gone to every effort to make the stay comfortable and the level of service and attention to detail was better than many 5* hotels. The breakfast and dinner were delicious with great choice . Lastly Shahan took us in safari to yala as our guide and was a great host and spotter for this , with excellent knowledge of the area and wildlife.

Wir durften zwei wundervolle Tage in dieser Unterkunft verbringen und sind immer noch begeistert. Das Zimmer war super sauber und gepflegt – man hat sich sofort wohlgefühlt. Klimaanlage, WLAN und die Dusche haben einwandfrei funktioniert, alles war top in Schuss. Das Frühstück war einfach fantastisch und richtig üppig. So gestärkt in den Tag zu starten war herrlich. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt: In nur 2 Minuten zu Fuß erreicht man einen menschenleeren, traumhaften Strand. Perfekt zum Entspannen! Ein riesiges Dankeschön an Shehan – seine Gastfreundschaft ist einfach herausragend. Er war unglaublich fürsorglich, dabei aber nie aufdringlich. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns sein Wissen über die heimische Tierwelt. Er hat sich viel Zeit genommen, um mit uns angeln zu gehen – ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Und das Abendessen: Ehrlich gesagt das beste, was wir in ganz Sri Lanka gegessen haben! Mit so viel Liebe und Können gekocht. Wir wünschen Shehan von Herzen alles Gute für sein neues Projekt. Wer eine Unterkunft mit Herz, Seele und echtem Sri-Lanka-Feeling sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

We had a wonderful stay at Kingfisher Beach Resort. The resort is located right next to a beautiful beach, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. Shehan was an amazing host — very welcoming, helpful, and always kind. The rooms were very nice and spotless, and the breakfast served on the terrace every morning was absolutely delicious. Everything felt peaceful and well taken care of. We truly wish we could have stayed longer and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

What can we say? An unexpected and memorable stay here in this super comfortable room where we were thoroughly spoiled from beginning to end. Shehan, you are the perfect host and think of everything! Highlights of our short stay included walks along this stunning beach, the jeep trip to the safari where Shehan expertly and respectfully located so many beautiful animals including the pinnacle of the sightings – the majestic Lucas the leopard – and his queen too. We also saw a cobra! Finally the food! What culinary delights – the coffee cake on arrival – the beautifully cooked lobster and red snapper with elegant salad and rice – and a breakfast worthy of a 5* restaurant. All round top class! Not to mention a cool and comfy room. Thank you! from Charlie and Rich xx

A wonderful stay with a wonderful Yala private safari

Wow, what an amazing experience at Shehan's lovely property. Shehan was such an excellent, attentive host from the start to the end of our stay, we had such a great time. His home cooked food was amazing with Red Snapper on the menu a particular favourite. The room we stayed in had everything we wanted, including AC, and a very comfy bed! Shehan took us on a whole day safari to nearby Yala National Park where, with his expertise, we were able to escape the rest of the jeeps and felt as if most of the time we had the park to ourselves. He was able to show us all the wonderful wildlife that Yala has to offer and we were lucky enough to see a leopard as well as lots of elephants up close plus huge crocodiles and many other animals and birds. He provided a wonderful breakfast and a great spread for lunch, the whole day is something we will remember for a long time. Thank you Shehan!

Exceptional host, food and safari

An amazing host, property, restaurant, safari and experience. We were lucky enough to stay with Shehan recently and experience true Sri Lankan hospitality. Shehan (the owner) showed us the local area, took us to a nearby quiet beach and then to local viewpoints where we could see the sunset and locals fishing. The room was spotless and really clean, well functioning AC and preventative measures for bugs. The cooking is also amazing! Restaurant quality on your doorstep, with excellent choice and always fresh. We also opted to use Shehan for a safari, where he again was an amazing host, talking through everything we could see in the park, keeping away from crowds and genuinely caring for the park/animals. He also prepared an unreal breakfast and lunch. Whilst on our stay, we also managed to meet some of his wider family of which was a nice touch and made you feel at "home" We highly recommend Shehan and Kingfisher, a must for anyone exploring Sri Lanka. Thank you again Shehan, we will never forget our stay with you. Wishing you all the best and hopefully see you again.
