− More shelving and hooks in the bathroom would be great as we had nowhere to hang more than 1 towel.

Kind, calm hosts during wild weather! Accommodation was perfect for families.
10.0We stayed 2 nights 31 May – 2 June with 7 adults + 1 child. We picked Augusta Escape because we wanted to explore Cape Leeuwin, Canal Rocks, and Margaret River without rushing. The units were clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a big family. Kitchen was very well equipped, parking was easy, and it was central for day trips to Augusta Bakery, Cape Leeuwin, and Canal Rocks. Our 10yo loved having room to spread out after long drives. The highlight though was how our hosts handled the wild weather and power failure on 31 May. They gave us battery powered torchlight, checked in on us, and kept everyone calm. When our BBQ gas ran low, the neighbours offered their portable gas stove and we managed to boil water + cook noodles by torchlight. That kind of community spirit turned a blackout into one of our outstanding memories (to take home for some of our visiting family members from Malaysia)! Even with the storm, we managed Canal Rocks, Cape Leeuwin, and wine tasting at Swings & Roundabouts the next day. When power was restored, our hosts very thoughtfully switched on the heater for us, which made it a very "warm" welcome back to the property! Augusta was a great base. A very big thank you to our kind and lovely hosts, Kyra and Mark ,for looking after us so well when the weather turned. We’d definitely stay again.
