it is a great house with a well-made barbeque zone!

− Requires maintenance. - dishwasher needs to be repaired (does not function) - mud needs to be removed from the bathroom ceiling - curtains need to be washed (dusty) Internet connection is slow even near the router (~28/4 Mbps). Slow internet package? Outside of the kitchen, wifi signal degrates drastically. In the 2 bed bedroom, it's almost lost. In the master bedroom, there is no wifi connection. Be ready that they disable heating between stays. When we arrived, the house was ~17 degrees, and it took the whole evening and night to heat to a comfortable temperature.

I do not recommend at all … but .. your friendly advice , go for it JUST if you like throwing out your money , an awful smell , being far from everything, no shops , no restaurants ,a not working shower , hot temperature and not working wifi … so basically if you don’t mind anything than go for it , if you mind than read the “why not “

− Do not book ! Waste of money and huge disappointment!!! Unfortunately when we arrived we had a surprise, there were ants in the house and the heating was on with 35 C . The one shower ( just one !!!! )and sink were not working , not flushing down , you just had to stand in the dirty water . The full house smells wet and moldy just very very stinky !!! I got sick . There is just one aircondition that’s leading to a closed garage !!! It’s not worth it so save your money & energy to look for something else.

Good quality accommodation in quiet location

Very quiet and peaceful. House was clean and well presented. We liked the private rear garden and barbecue facilities. The large TV came with Netflix and Amazon prime which was great on the couple of rainy evenings.

− The hob was temperamental and kept cutting out when using more than one ring. The request to strip the beds before leaving we thought to be a bit ott.

This was the third place we stayed in Madeira and was the best. A bungalow, off by itself in the upper part of Achadas da Cruz on the western side of the island. Perfectly suited to visit Ponta Moniz, Ponta do Pargo or the mid-road above Janela for the hiking. In fact easy to get to the southern towns along the coast. We went as far over ad Madalena from here. Lots of very good walking and hiking in reach of the house. It is also walkable to the cable car, though it is a good climb along the road back to the house. House was fully functional. Good bathroom, two bedrooms, small back garden area, beautiful little orchard with lemons and oranges, There is a gate separating the road from the house and only a not of traffic down the road. Clothes washer, good sized garage with a bike available, good facilities for barbecue and cooking for a good sized family or group outside. Staff very accessible by phone. Second of the MHM places we stayed and can't say enough positive about the service.

− The security gate in front is not lockable since the lock has rusted. Beds were a bit uncomfortable, but fine. Hard to figure out which keys go to what doors, there are so many!
