Wanted to like it but there were too many issues
6.0Very obvious the owners loved the place and thoughtfully furnished it. Very interesting architecture and grand in a way.
− Maggot infestation in the kitchen with wings and maggots showing up everywhere. Smells in the downstairs bedroom from the vent. Promise of air conditioning on the site but then arrived to find no air conditioning working with no forewarning and no offered discount or cancellation.
A very pleasant break in a very attractive town and, apart from a few wrinkles, the house was great.
7.0The location was very good.
− The house and its furnishings were most attractive but, being a little "picky", a bit impracticable - not everyone likes toilets which have no doors and can be viewed through a glass wall or floor! The guidebook was good but waxed lyrical about the aesthetics and omitted quite a bit of practical advice e.g. what do you do with rubbish! There were a few facilities which didn't work i.e. bulbs had gone, the spa bath didn't work, the cooker hood was lethal to anyone tall, there were spare pillows and duvets but no covers, and the towels were a little old and thin. We were asked not to use the dishwasher as it was temperamental.

9.0Very nice, very well decorated old Canarian house, newly renovated to the highest standards, centrally located in Garachico, everthing can be reached by foot. Very friendly and helpful contact to the owner.
