The location & the facilities

− On the whole everything was good although the taps in the bathrooms could do with being sorted as loose & one turns the wrong way but not really that big a issue

It was clean and roomy and well equipped and I would definitely stay here again.

The property was very clean and well decorated the garden was excellent for my great grandchildren to be in very secure and nothing to stop them running around. The rooms and bathrooms were roomy and clean. The beds were very comfortable and so were the settee’s. If the weather had been better the bi fold doors would have been a bonus. The location was good with a good pub over the water if you didn’t want to cook and plenty of choice for walking the dog. Being near the canal was very interesting for the children to observe life on a canal.

− Nothing we didn’t like but the only slight drawback was there was no sweeping brush or hoover to sweep the floor with on the last morning but other than that no complaints

Rachel was brilliant, easily contacted and made everything perfect The fixtures and fittings in the cottage are opulent and I felt immediately settled there The location, once found, is amazing

− Couldn't get tv or WiFi working A "how to" guide to the cottage and area would have been appreciated, and Rachel has taken this on board

When we booked we thought we had found somewhere good to stay - it exceeded all expectations.

Cottage stunning, comfortable and relaxing with plenty of secure outside space for our dog. The canal side location beautiful and peaceful. It made us feel very lucky to be there and we look forward to booking again.

Beautiful, cosy cottage in a fabulous location. Not far from Wakefield city centre, but feels miles away. Fabulous facilities in the cottage with everything you need. Lovely and warm, wood burner and central heating kept us toasty. As this was a Christmas stay, we really appreciated that the owners had added some extra sparkle with a Christmas tree and decorations (and a tub of celebrations! Thank you!) Had a little issue with the boiler on Christmas Day, but easily sorted with the owner, who was very accommodating in helping us despite it being a special day. Overall fabulous!

− Like others have said, would’ve preferred an upstairs bathroom but we were aware before we booked, so not really an issue.
