Extremely Expensive 2-Day Stay Due to Serious Utility Failure

The location is good, and Neo Chorio itself is an interesting traditional village worth visiting. The surrounding area has beautiful nature and convenient access to the Akamas Peninsula. The apartment also has two balconies, which is convenient in hot weather.

− During our stay we lost both hot and cold running water on Saturday night due to a failure in the property’s water system, making it impossible to use the shower and toilet! After the owner was unable to arrange repairs during the weekend and there was no certainty the issue would be fixed the next working day, we had to relocate to another property. I offered to pay for the 2 nights actually spent in the apartment and requested a refund for the remaining stay. However, out of the original 1360 EUR booking, the owner refunded only 510 EUR, while Booking.com provided an additional 170 EUR compensation. This means that 2 nights in this apartment effectively cost us 680 EUR in losses and additional expenses. Future guests should be aware that when serious problems occurred, the owner did not provide a timely solution and agreed only to a partial refund. Compared to the water supply failure, the following issues were secondary, but still worth mentioning: The apartment was prepared for only 2 guests despite our reservation being for 4 people — only two sets of towels were provided and those had an unpleasant smell and had to be washed immediately after arrival. The furnishing is very unusual, with nearly every surface crowded with questionable decorative objects, making the apartment feel cluttered rather than comfortable. Some of the furniture is made of metal with sharp corners. There is also active construction directly across the road, significantly affecting both the atmosphere and much of the valley/coast view.

Excellent apartment in lovely location, great views, good facilities

Good location for hiking, running and seaside (though you need a car); nice quiet village (not much open/going on in November though there were two cafes and a shop open). Very quiet complex, excellent facilities and communication from the owner. TV gets all UK channels (bonus!) and easy to operate. Well appointed kitchen. Two balconies front and back so you can get all the sun you want. We didn't use the pool as it was too cold but it looked nice. Car parking onsite is good.

− The washing machine wasn't working and it took 5 days from us notifying the owner to get it fixed. It was a minor inconvenience and to be fair once it was fixed it worked fine and the owner paid for us to have a service laundry wash in Pafos. The shower curtain is ineffective and we had to use a small towel for every shower to catch the water otherwise the floor was flooded. But these were small things and overall we loved the apartment. As noted the village was extremely quiet - not a big deal for us and it was out of season, but definitely not a place for anyone looking for meals out, drinks and 'nightlife' on your doorstep!
