Disappointing Experience for the Price – Management Needs to Improve We booked this resort in Aluminak, Santiago, Iloco
2.0− Disappointing Experience for the Price – Management Needs to Improve We booked this resort in Aluminak, Santiago, Ilocos Sur, expecting a serene and peaceful getaway, especially considering the steep price of almost $250 per night. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what was promised. One of the biggest issues was the presence of too many day passers. This ruined the peaceful ambiance, as hotel guests had to share facilities with non-staying visitors. The resort's staff were clearly overstretched trying to accommodate both groups, leading to delays and subpar service. It also raised serious security concerns, as day passers had easy access to guest rooms. Compared to our stay in a private villa in Siargao, which cost the same, this resort fell short on many levels. The serenity and exclusivity we expected were non-existent. While the staff were the real heroes, doing their best to meet our requests despite the challenges, the real issue lies with the management. The resort's owner seems focused on maximizing profits—charging a high nightly rate while allowing day passers to flood the property. Adding to the disappointment was the resort’s false claim of sustainability. This is pure greenwashing. I observed excessive plastic use and wasteful electricity consumption, which is anything but sustainable. For the price they charge, guests deserve better service, better management, and a truly serene environment. I urge the owners to rethink their priorities and deliver on the promises they make to their guests.
