Lovely remote cottage with two bedrooms. Amazing views from one of them. All kitchen appliances there so you can cook easily. Small jacuzzi outside property. Accommodating owners.

Nice rural setting

The cottage is in a lovely rural location with wonderful views. Our stay was quiet and peaceful and the cottage has a great layout, perfect for our family of two adults and 2 children. The shower was nice and strong. When we stayed it was very cold and it was snowing on the mountains. This was beautiful but it did take a while to warm up the cottage. There were two electric heaters supplied so once we got these going the cottage did warm up. The listing mentions a fireplace but it is actually an electric plug in heater that has an LED flame, pretty to look at but it did not throw out much heat and kept switching itself off.

− There were a few things that need attention to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for future guests. The bathroom lacks a fan so it stays quite damp which has led to black mold growing at the top of the walls and a musty smell in the bathroom. The two main lights in the bathroom were not working so it was a bit dark in there! There was one light still going so it was not completely dark. The bathroom heater was not working. There were no smoke alarms when we stayed, I could see two brackets, but the alarms had been removed. These should be reinstalled. We heard mice at night so we put our food into the fridge and microwave overnight to avoid it being eaten. We are aware the cottage is in the country and mice are common so we accepted this. There was no soap provided for the shower and no bathmat or face cloths, it would have been nice to provide these items or let us know to bring our own. Finally there was a soaking wet rug of some kind left on the only towel rack in the bathroom which was a bit off putting. We just left it where it was and hung our towels to dry in the living room. We would stay here again if passing through, and hope the mold issue can be rectified and smoke alarms installed.

It had a fantastic outlook and was such a disappointment that the house and surrounds weren’t clean and tidy.

It had a stunning scenery outlook.

− The house was covered in spider webs inside and out with black spiders living on the ceilings inside. Felt like I was sleeping in used sheets in the single bedroom, quilt cover also had food stuck on cover. Kitchen cupboards and drawers weren’t clean. Outside area wasn’t maintained.

It was a pleasant experience and loved the peacefulness of the location.

The view was stunning.

− The property is quite tired and in need of an update - the bbq needs a deep clean. It would be helpful to provide fly spray in the property.

The apt. Is spacious and clean

− Unfortunately i got shocking by suddenly warm water changed to cold shower when i had shampoo on my head. I tried to turn Tab to Max still cold. I felt shaky, tried to put on heater henging the wall in bath. It didnt work, I dried up soap bubbles and asked my roommate to call the host at neighbour house, it seemed nobody there. Even the heater in bed room not connected to electricity. I paid 275NZD for this experience, feel quite disappointed. Hope the host fix this problem before it rented to the guests.

No coffee and cold shower

Loved the view. Beautiful starry night with no light pollution.

− Table top not attached to frame. Cutlery drawer face fell off. Hot water in shower not consistent (went cold, waited for a while and then went cold again. 2nd person had chilly shower). No coffee or tea for breakfast. After 20 days in NZ was 1st place that didn't have coffee)
